Zkri avalviz

The dreaded Zkri avalviz started out as little more then drug addled mystics lurking in the desert of Jex. Although the rough translation to merchants tongue is Daemonologist, the Zkri avalviz consort with spirits not beasts of the lower planes. At low level they speak with minor spirits and sprites, at higher levels they commands the powers of efreets, genies and their kin. Each Zkri avalviz follows one of five paths: Air, Sand, Earth, Fire, or Spirits. Followers of the 5th path are few and very dangerious. Aside from the 5 paths (or schools) there are two major types of Zkri avalviz: the Zkri avalviz Kurdra (Daemonologists of Light) and the Zkri avalviz Ulzrav (Daemonologists of Shadow). The Kurdra group is much larger and more powerful then the Ulzrav. It should be noted “Light” and “Shadow” have very specific meanings. Daemonologists of “Light” are clerics and elementalists, they are no more or less evil then a normal cleric. Daemonologists of “Shadow” are mages and other arcane casters, they are not “evil” per say but are usually rather unbalanced. Zkri avalviz Kurdra gain spells as a cleric and can cast from the cleric spell list. Zkri avalviz Ulzrav gain spells as a mage and cast from the mage spell list. Both types can only cast spells of their path. To cast a spell of a different path they cast as 5 levels lower. They can never cast spells of the opposed path I.E. fire can not cast sand, air can not cast earth. The path of Spirits is considered opposite to all other paths as a Zkri avalviz from either group either casts only spirit magic, or they can cast none.
